Once the days get shorter and my summer tan inevitably fades away, I start reaching for anything that makes my skin look a little more awake. Lately that’s been Drunk Elephant’s B-Goldi Bright Drops ($39), a golden serum that fades dark spots over time while giving your skin an instant, natural-looking glow.
My favorite thing to do is mix a drop or two into my moisturizer. The result is a soft, lit-from-within brightness that makes my skin look rested even on mornings it isn’t. The glow settles into the skin instead of sitting on top, so it reads as healthy skin, not oily skin. And if you want a touch more dimension, it also works as a beautiful highlight on the cheekbones. It’s also made to pair with the brand’s other drops, so when I’m craving more warmth, I’ll mix in a drop of the brand’s D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops ($39).
The formula is built on 5 percent niacinamide, the do-it-all vitamin B3 that supports the skin barrier and helps even out tone. It’s paired with diglucosyl gallic acid, which helps limit excess melanin production, plus mulberry leaf extract to soothe and brighten. Together they target hyperpigmentation, dark spots and the marks breakouts leave behind, with antioxidant protection and lightweight moisture on top. It’s also free of fragrance, essential oils, silicones and drying alcohols.
According to the brand, in an eight-week clinical study of 34 people, all participants showed brighter, more even skin tone, and 97 percent saw a reduction in dark spots and hyperpigmentation. It’s a dark spot serum and an instant glow boost in one.

As with any brightening step, daily sunscreen does a lot of the heavy lifting. And if your spots are stubborn or melasma-related, a dermatologist can help build the right plan around it. Because the formula is lightweight and fragrance-free, it layers easily into most routines. If your skin could use some extra light this season, these drops are a simple, skin-friendly way to get it.
