Back in 2024, we predicted that the jelly nails trend would morph into jammy nails, a more sophisticated, richer-toned take on the look. Think of your favorite Bonne Maman preserves or farm-fresh jam—more saturated than jelly nails with a hint of opacity. Now, jammy nails are gaining momentum for fall 2026 manicures. According to Fresha, the beauty and wellness booking platform, searches for the look have surged 24,650 percent in the last three months.
Ahead, nail experts explain what makes jammy nails so wearable for fall, plus the polish picks and layering tips to get the look.

What are jammy nails?
“Autumn 2026 seems to be all about putting a fresh spin on the classic seasonal shades. Rich berry shades, chocolate browns and orange tones are being revamped with jammy, syrupy, jelly-like finishes,” says Fresha beauty expert Annabelle Taurua. “We’ve been giving traditional seasonal colors an almost edible twist for some time now, but applying it to autumnal shades makes them feel even more delicious, letting people truly embrace the cozy color palette.”
Celebrity nail artist Julie Kandalec fell in love with the look during a trip to Seoul, drawn to its “rich, sheer jelly colors that offer a more subdued yet colorful look.”
“Effects manis (especially jelly/semi-sheer looks) are still going strong, and jammy nails are a sophisticated, richer, deeper take on this trend. The semi-sheer wash of color keeps the look fresh,” says Olive and June’s mani trend expert and VP of content and creative Olivia Van Iderstine. “This trend also matches the pretty stains we’re seeing in color cosmetics for lips and cheeks—so gorgeous and tonal.”
Sundays CEO and founder Amy Ling Lin says jammy nails “are a really creative way to combine the translucent allure of jelly nails with darker, moody shades for a sophisticated but still playful look.” She adds, “The blend of jelly’s lightness with the depth of darker shades allows for endless creativity and is perfect for those who love to experiment with their nail art. It’s inspiring to see how people continuously come up with fresh ideas.”
How to get the jammy nails look
Celebrity nail artist Elizabeth Garcia notes that jammy nails are “a magnificent transition for fall,” especially when paired with foils or gems in different colors.
To customize your shade, try layering polishes. “Layer a combo to create your own custom mixed berry flavor,” says Van Iderstine. “The key is to paint thin coats to achieve that sheer, jammy effect.”
