Joylux, the women’s wellness technology company best known for its red-light therapy devices for intimate health, is expanding into whole-body care with the launch of ILYEO body ($199), a hands-free wearable designed to temporarily relieve minor muscle and joint pain, including the aches and stiffness many women experience during perimenopause and menopause.
Unlike bulky red-light panels or handheld wands that require users to sit still, ILYEO body straps directly onto the area that hurts, whether that’s a shoulder one day and a knee or lower back the next. The flexible, medical-grade silicone device delivers 662 nm red light at up to 28 J/cm² of measured energy per 10-minute session, combined with soothing heat (up to 43°C) and gentle vibration. It’s built to fit the neck, shoulders, elbows, knees, ankles, hips and back, with an adjustable strap for direct skin contact and targeted placement.

“Women are used to being told this is just what happens with age,” says Colette Courtion, Joylux’s founder and CEO. “We wanted to build something that respects how real and disruptive this pain is and gives women a powerful, convenient way to treat it, not just tolerate it.”
Joylux says effective red-light therapy depends on therapeutic irradiance and an appropriate energy dose, not simply the number of LEDs. The company publishes ILYEO body’s full irradiance and energy-density specifications and says its performance has been independently tested.
“Red light at this wavelength is absorbed by the mitochondria in our cells, where it can support the energy production that drives the body’s natural recovery process,” says Dr. Nicolas Loebel, Joylux’s chief technology officer. “Combined with heat to help relax the muscles and vibration for added comfort, it offers women a simple, non-invasive way to bring meaningful relief directly to the areas where they need it most.”
ILYEO body is an FDA-registered Class II, 510(k)-exempt medical device indicated for the temporary relief of minor muscle and joint pain, arthritis pain and stiffness and muscle spasms, as well as the temporary increase of local blood circulation. It pairs with a free companion app that builds a personalized treatment protocol based on where the pain is, guides users through pad placement and tracks sessions over time.
Joylux counts Halle Berry among its backers. The actress became an investor and brand ambassador in 2024 through a partnership with Respin, her own midlife wellness brand, after using Joylux’s products herself. Berry has been an outspoken advocate for normalizing conversations around menopause, an ethos that lines up with ILYEO body’s pitch to address midlife pain “like it matters.”
