EltaMD, the number-one dermatologist-recommended sunscreen brand, is launching a fall marketing push built around the tagline “There’s No Offseason for SPF,” aimed at consumers who scale back sun protection once summer ends.
The campaign is timed to the start of football season and centers on a partnership with Kristin Juszczyk, a fashion designer and entrepreneur married to San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk, along with her makeup artist, Hailey Hoff.
“My work has always been about putting a fresh spin on the familiar,” Juszczyk says. “I love that ‘No Offseason for SPF’ brings that same idea to sun protection, making it an easy part of your routine year-round.”
Hoff echoes the ease of use, specifically praising EltaMD UV Skin Recovery Green Tint SPF 50 ($52). “It has become a staple product in my kit for both myself and my clients. I love how it helps neutralize redness and creates a smooth, even base for makeup while still feeling lightweight on the skin and giving that added SPF protection. Juszczyk and Hoff join a group of creators, influencers and dermatologists working with the brand this fall, including Dr. Dustin Portela, Wallace R. Nozile, MD, Allison Khong and Olivia Harlan Dekker, who will produce social media content encouraging consumers to keep sunscreen in their routines through the fall and winter months.
The push is grounded in seasonal usage data. According to The Benchmarking Company’s 2024 Sun Care Consumer Survey, conducted in March 2024 among more than 2,600 U.S. women, sunscreen use drops 43 percent between summer and fall. The survey found 100 percent of respondents who use sunscreen reported doing so in summer, compared with 57 percent in fall and 46 percent in winter.
As part of the campaign, EltaMD is partnering with on-demand beauty service Glamsquad to offer a complimentary “EltaMD Prep & Protect” add-on through October 24, featuring the brand’s UV Skin Recovery Red Color Correcting Green Tint Broad-Spectrum SPF 50. The add-on positions sunscreen as a first step in makeup application rather than a separate or seasonal product. The formula is also being distributed to professional makeup artists and will be featured across Glamsquad’s digital and social channels.
EltaMD frames the campaign as an effort to reposition sunscreen as a year-round habit rather than a summer-specific product, using football season’s cultural visibility, its roster of dermatologists and creators, and the Glamsquad partnership to reach consumers as fall begins.
