During a recent appearance on the U Up?<\/em> podcast, where he discussed his new book, Your Roots Don\u2019t Define You<\/em>, Appleton was asked about the highest fee he\u2019s ever charged for a haircut. While he was quick to note that his prices haven\u2019t always been astronomical, the top end of the spectrum lands firmly in six-figure territory.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve charged everything from $100 back in the day,\u201d Appleton shared, before admitting that one ultra-exclusive appointment climbed all the way to $100,000. The jaw-dropping fee, however, wasn\u2019t for a routine salon visit. \u201cThat was to travel, and it was a one-off,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n Appleton also added important context around the six-figure price tag: \u201cDon\u2019t forget you get taxed 50 percent and your agent takes something,\u201d he said. In other words, that final take-home amount \u201cgets dwindled down.\u201d<\/p>\n And while a $100,000 haircut may sound shocking, Appleton emphasized that these fees are rare and highly situational, not his standard rate.<\/p>\n The takeaway: In an era where beauty expertise is currency and perfection is expected at all times, the cost of looking flawless\u2014especially under the world\u2019s spotlight\u2014can be very, very high.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
