The new version packs 750 individual LEDs across six clinically tested wavelengths—red, near-infrared, deep near-infrared, blue, yellow and green—each targeting a different concern, from fine lines and firmness to redness, tone and blemishes.

Bass used the mask as the first step in Moore’s prep for the carpet, where the actress wore a black tasseled Bottega Veneta gown with slicked-back hair. “To prep the skin for the ultimate red carpet radiance, I started with the CurrentBody LED Light Therapy Mask Series 3,” Bass shares. “I customized the setting combining red and deep near-infrared lights to help smooth fine lines, brighten and plump up the skin.”

That customization is possible through MyDose, a new companion app that ships with the Series 3 and represents the biggest change from earlier CurrentBody masks. Rather than running a single fixed program across the whole face, MyDose lets users map different wavelengths to different zones—pairing an acne-clearing wavelength over a breakout on the forehead with deep near-infrared under the eyes in the same session, for example—and save the combination for repeat use. For a makeup artist like Bass, the app turns one device into a customizable treatment for each face she works on, rather than a single generic setting.

With her skin prepped, Bass moved into skin care, applying a hydrating mist followed by Augustinus Bader’s The Elixir ($550) and The Rich Cream ($315) waiting roughly a minute between steps to let each product absorb, then finishing with an eye cream applied with a metal roller to cool and depuff.

For makeup, Bass used Armani Beauty’s Luminous Silk Natural Glow Blurring Liquid Foundation ($69) blended with a damp sponge, concealer where needed, and a light bronzer and blush. Eyes were lined in black with the YSL Couture Eye Palette in Nude Hours ($88) for soft definition and a few coats of black mascara. Lips were lined with Charlotte Tilbury’s Lip Cheat Waterproof Lip Liner in Pillow Talk Fair ($28) and filled in with Le Rouge Français’s Rouge Tinctorial Lipstick in 036 Nude Arzica ($49), a petal-pink nude Bass chose to complement Moore’s fair, cool-toned complexion.

“We wanted the makeup to be minimal, fresh and dewy for a lit-from-within glow against the black,” Bass says.

[55
