Without the oversight that comes with FDA approval, products sold through unofficial websites or social media may not meet the same standards for purity, sterility or potency.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-md mb-6 leading-relaxed text-gray-500\">\u201cWe don\u2019t know about purity, sterility, potency in the batches that people are taking,\u201d she explains. \u201cIt could be contaminated, it could have bacteria in it, it could just not be what it says it is.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"peptides-are-an-addition-not-the-foundation\" class=\"font-canela mb-4 mt-8 text-2xl font-light leading-tight text-black md:text-3xl\">Peptides Are an Addition, Not the Foundation<\/h2>\n<p class=\"text-md mb-6 leading-relaxed text-gray-500\">When it comes to peptides in general and how the public is adopting them for longevity, wellness and skin care, Dr. Kumar says she is excited by the future of metabolic medicine and longevity research, she says consumers often misunderstand what peptides can actually accomplish. Peptides aren\u2019t what people think they are,\u201d she says. \u201cThey aren\u2019t this big game changer to your health, wellness or beauty.
