From Daytime Emmy winner to franchise frontrunner, Olivia Rose Keegan is having a summer\u2014and it\u2019s only the first week of June. Known for her role as Caroline in Daisy Jones & The Six<\/em> and her more recent turn in Dutton Ranch<\/em>, the star can next be seen in Scary Movie 6<\/em> (in theaters June 5), joining the iconic franchise in a role that\u2019s set to define its next chapter.<\/p>\n We caught up with the rising talent to talk beauty evolution, holy-grail products and the punky aesthetic from Gotham Knights<\/em> that still influences her style today.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cAll these varying aesthetics have really helped broaden my imagination when it comes to my own personal style. I\u2019ll often try something on during a fitting and think, \u2018ooh, never thought I\u2019d feel so cool in a beret,\u2019 and then on a day off, I\u2019ll find myself subconsciously seeking out a similar look. The same thing happens with eyeshadow palettes and hairstyles. Gotham Knights\u00a0was more of a long-term job, so Duela\u2019s aesthetic definitely found its way into my day-to-day. Our costumes, hair and makeup team\u2014Jennifer May Nickel, Nadia Sobh and Harriette Landau\u2014were all so brilliantly talented at conjuring up an authentically unkempt, punky aesthetic that still informs the way I like to play around with style today.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAm I crazy for only counting four? I use a cleanser, a retinoid at night, a hyaluronic acid serum and then a moisturizer. And an eye cream\u2026and then sunscreen. I suppose that makes six! It\u2019s so easy to end up with 700 products in your drawers these days, but everything I use does have a specific purpose, and I\u2019m fairly sure I feel a benefit from each of them.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe hair and makeup teams on both projects took such great care of us. Personally, my hair can get a little dry and brittle, so I always travel with a mini K18 Molecular Repair Hair Mask ($75). It keeps my hair feeling healthy no matter what kind of environment I\u2019m filming in.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI really value simple, effective, no-frills products that actually deliver. The best products on the market aren\u2019t always the most expensive ones. And although it\u2019s hard to fully accomplish, I\u2019m always seeking out products with \u2018clean\u2019 ingredients\u2014no endocrine disruptors, carcinogens, forever chemicals, etc. A lot of the time, that means a Pacifica or Paula\u2019s Choice product with minimal, simple ingredients.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cBurt\u2019s Bees Overnight Lip Treatment ($11). I\u2019ve tried probably 20 lip balms, and it\u2019s the only product that moisturizes my lips as well as the petroleum-based Aquaphor. I have a slight dependency issue\u2014I need about seven of them hidden around my house at all times, tucked away in little corners so I\u2019m never more than 12 feet away from moisturization.<\/p>\n And although it\u2019s not clean, I have yet to find a proper dupe for Armani Luminous Silk Foundation ($69). It\u2019s unmatched. I think a lot of people would be angry to see that one discontinued.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m very lucky to have such wonderful friends and family, so I love spending time with them and talking about things outside of the career world. I know life is so much bigger than the jobs I have or don\u2019t have, but that can be easy to forget when I\u2019m in the thick of it all.<\/p>\n As far as taking care of myself when things are moving fast, I\u2019d say my recipe for success is ample time with friends and family\u2014partner and dog included\u2014sleep, exercise, being in nature and truthfully, a dinner out at a delicious restaurant does wonders for me.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\nYou\u2019ve played a rock-and-roll free spirit in\u00a0Daisy Jones & The Six<\/em>, the Joker\u2019s daughter in\u00a0Gotham Knights<\/em> and now you\u2019re stepping into a horror-comedy with\u00a0Scary Movie 6<\/em>. Each world has such a distinct look. Has any character\u2019s beauty aesthetic ever crossed over into your real life?<\/h2>\n
What does your actual, no-filter morning skin-care routine look like? Are you a five-step minimalist or a full shelfie kind of person?<\/h2>\n
Filming\u00a0Dutton Ranch<\/em>\u00a0on location and doing the physical demands of\u00a0Scary Movie 6<\/em>\u00a0are two very different environments for your skin and hair. What\u2019s the one product you refuse to show up to a set without?<\/h2>\n
