Buildable coverage was nonnegotiable for this formula. \u201cI wanted it to be hydrating and comfortable, while still delivering reliable performance,\u201d says Ta. A quick scan of the INCI list underscores its skin-first approach, with ingredients including vitamin E and hyaluronic acid for hydration and vitamin C to brighten and even tone.<\/p>\n

How to Master Patrick Ta\u2019s Blending Technique<\/h2>\n

Perfecting concealer comes down to two things: placement and application. \u201cConcealer needs to be placed with intention,\u201d says Ta, \u201cstarting with the inner corner of the eye, slightly lifted toward the outer corner, around the nose, smile lines or anywhere you want to softly blur or add light.\u201d<\/p>\n

Blending requires the same level of attention. \u201cFor me, it starts before you even pick up the brush,\u201d he continues. \u201cAfter applying the concealer [and before I let it set], I take the fluffy side of the dual-ended brush and lightly diffuse the edges. This ensures it seamlessly blends into the rest of the look. Then, I allow the areas where I want extra brightness, usually the inner corners, to sit and set slightly into the skin.\u201d Too many layers can lead to cakiness; instead, the goal is to build coverage gradually.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s where the dual-ended brush comes in. \u201cThe denser side is used to press and pack the product into place exactly where I need it,\u201d Ta says. \u201cThis technique diffuses the concealer into the skin and keeps it looking skin-like. To finish, I blend everything with a light bounce of my five-in-one blending sponge, making everything seamless and effortless.
